A Final Thought

It was one year ago that I started this Picture a Day thing. I wondered a few times if I was going to make it through. Time constraints made it tough sometimes but I was able to get at least one picture off each day, even if I didn't get a chance to get it posted that day. For those of you who have visited this site, I hope you enjoyed some of the photographs, and excused some of the last minute, less than stellar efforts. I know that I had a good time taking the pictures and reading your comments. Thanks for your support.

Day 365 Happy New Year Everyone

Day 364

It used to be very easy to get Christmas presents for Matt. A first a few new toys, later on, larger more expensive things. Now we have to get creative. This year, one of his presents was a tandem skydive. It took a little soul searching on Reba's part, deciding whether or not to throw her kid out of an airplane, but she finally agreed. Today was his jump. Here he is making the final approach.

There is a light at the end of the tunnel. It's hard to believe that after this one, there will only be two more posts before the 2006 edition of My Picture a Day is finished.

I told you that I wouldn't do another picture of the mouse and calender. After looking at this one you may wish I did. It rained tonight. This is a picture of the raindrops on the moon roof of the car.

Pure lazy again. I thought I would have all this time on my hands being on vacation and all but it seems I have very little to spare right now. This is not the same picture as yesterday.(Note the position of the mouse). 5 more days 'til Christmas.

I feel sort of bad about doing the calender thing again today so here is a bonus pic from our weekend in North Carolina last september. This was from atop Mount Mitchell, the highest pead east of the Mississippi, elevation 6684ft.

6 more days 'til Christmas. This countdown calender has been a part of our Christmas decoration since Matt was a little guy. If you will notice, one of our pets chewed the ear off of the mouse.

This is the result of pure laziness. I was attempting some kind of outdoor shot tonight when I noticed how clear the stars appeared. Rather than take a couple minutes to go get the tripod, I decided to try to handhold the camera for about 6 seconds. (Not exactly possible to hold it still). Therefore what you get is an abstract.

By the way, this is Orion's belt.

Today was my last day of work until January 2, 2007. Vacation time is wonderful. Hopefully, this will give me an opportunity to photograph something besides junk that I find around the house. I stopped at Eola Park again today. I still like taking pictures of birds.

This picture may need some explanation. It was raining so I couldn't go outside and get the shot I wanted so it was back in the house to look for something. This was an experimental effort which went dramatically awry. It is of a grape dropping into a salad bowl filled with water. It sooked stupid so I started playing with some effect. I then put it on a blue background and played with just about every Photoshop tool. Well, I'll be off work for a couple of weeks so maybe I'll have time to leave the house to take pictures.

Did I ever mention that I hate it when it gets dark so early. It really limits my opportunities for pictures. This is a crystal shamrock.

I made it for 11 months without having to do this (which is a lot longer than some other bloggers I know) but I could not avoid it at this time. This may look like just another Christmas picture, (especially since it's not Dec 35th yet so I haven't lost the spirit) but it is actually just another example of Reba not being able to go shopping with Moe without buying something.

It's getting closer to Christmas!! This is an odd year because I am always the "Bah Humbug" around here but this year it seems that I am the first to get in the spirit. I just hope that I haven't OD'd on it by Dec. 35.
